Jayme
Caughron, GRTS Director, presented Becky O'Dell, Braymer C-4 Counselor, with the 2020 Outstanding Sending Schools' Educator Award on
Monday evening, June 8, at the Braymer C-4 board meeting.
Grand River Tech
annually honors an educator from a sending high school with an award
acknowledging someone who always strives to do what is best for students
and supports the GRTS staff in helping those students advance their career
goals.

Becky O'Dell,
Counselor at Braymer C-4. L to R: Jayme Caughron, GRTS Director; Becky
O'Dell, Braymer C-4 Counselor; Adam Wolf, GRTS Assistant Director
In making the presentation, Caughron stated,
"Becky has been an exemplary supporter of career & technical education! She understands how crucial it
is for our students to develop superb technical skills & achieve industry
recognized credentials. In a time where the skills gap is great, we must do
all that we can to prepare an educated and skilled workforce for our
communities, as well as prepare students to go on to further their education in their chosen career fields. It is
comforting to know that an educator such as Becky O'Dell is an avid supporter of all that we do.
Becky works closely with our counselor and teachers to ensure students are placed
appropriately in programs. She follows up on students who may be struggling
to see what they need to do to improve and helps our counselor encourage
good attendance. Becky is an amazing advocate for her students, providing
extra information when we need it to make good decisions about acceptance
into our programs. Becky, thank you for your service to our school, being a
positive influence on students & helping prepare students for career
success!"
