Chillicothe High School Senior Madelyn Wilford wins American Legion District 2 Annual High School Oratorical Contest! Madelyn Wilford, a senior at Chillicothe R-2 High School and coached by CHS Language Arts instructor Lisa Rule, was named district winner of the American Legion’s 86th annual High School Oratorical Scholarship Program Saturday at Brookfield. Wilford, in winning the District Two contest, will advance to Zone One competition in Hannibal on January 19th and compete with winners from Districts 1, 8 and 9. The winner of that contest will advance to State competition in February. Chillicothe’s Vern R Glick American Wilford was presented a $300 scholarship from the District, and will receive another $1000 scholarship from Post 25 once she competes at the Zone level. #hornetsr2 #youareawesome
